What is Verified Presence Infrastructure

Verified Presence Infrastructure (VPI) is a system that creates cryptographically signed, geographically verified, immutable records of physical presence at a specific location and time.

Unlike traditional attendance tracking methods — paper sign-in sheets, manual headcounts, self-reported check-ins, honor-system rosters — verified presence infrastructure produces records that cannot be forged, altered, or disputed.

A host registers a physical space or event and receives a unique QR code tied to that location's exact geographic coordinates. When an attendee arrives and scans the QR code with their phone camera:

1. The device's GPS coordinates are captured
2. The coordinates are verified against the registered location using haversine distance calculation
3. A unique record identifier is generated
4. The record is cryptographically signed using SHA-256 hashing
5. The signed record is written to an immutable database — it cannot be edited or deleted after creation

No dedicated mobile application is required. The entire process operates within the device's standard web browser.
